Central Falls Man Found Guilty of Child Molestation

Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin announced that Cesar Vasquez (age 39), with a last known address of 114 Perry Street, Central Falls, was found guilty yesterday by a Providence County Superior Court jury of four counts of first degree child molestation. The jury returned the verdict after deliberating for one and one half hours after a five-day trial presided over by Superior Court Justice Netti C. Vogel.

During the course of the trial, the State proved that on two separate occasions between 2000 and 2003, Vasquez molested a young girl, age 10 at the time of the first occasion and age 13 at the time of the second occasion. The victim reported the molestation in 2013 to the Pawtucket Police Department. Vasquez was indicted by a Providence County Grand Jury in December 2013 and has been held without bail since his arraignment in January 2014. He was remanded back to the ACI after the verdict. A sentencing date has not been scheduled.

Special Assistant Attorneys General Daniel Griffin and Katelyn Revens prosecuted the case on behalf of the Office of Attorney General.
