The Newport County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Jaron Monroe with three counts of first degree domestic sexual assault, one count of domestic simple assault and one count of obstruction of justice.
It is alleged that on or about February 27, 2016, Monroe sexually and physically assaulted a woman with whom he was in a relationship. It is further alleged that on or about March 19, 2016, Monroe obstructed the judicial system.
The alleged incidents took place in Tiverton. The Tiverton Police conducted the investigation. The defendant, who is being held without bail, will be arraigned in Newport County Superior Court today, May 26, 2016.
