Lt. Governor's Office, Mayor Baldelli-Hunt to Host Energy-Shopping Info Session in Woonsocket

WOONSOCKET, RI -- On Thursday, August 31st at 1:00 p.m., Lt. Governor Dan McKee's Office will partner with Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt to host an Empower RI information session at the Woonsocket Harris Public Library to help ratepayers learn to safely shop for electric suppliers and save on their electric bills.

During the information session, members of Lt. Governor McKee's staff and the Mayor will be available to answer questions about Empower RI (www.ri.gov/EmpowerRI), an energy-shopping website McKee helped launch in 2016. Staff members will also demonstrate how ratepayers can switch their supplier online and potentially circumvent National Grid's rate increase set to go into effect on October 1st.

The session is free and open to the public. Residents wishing to learn more are asked to bring their most recent electric bills to the session between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the library's first floor conference room.

Over the next few weeks, the lieutenant governor's office will partner with municipal leaders to host daytime and evening Empower RI information sessions across the state.
