McKee to Announce Ambitious Goal for 15th Operation Holiday Cheer

WARWICK, R.I. – On Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Lieutenant Governor Dan McKee will be joined by the Rhode Island National Guard and a host of corporate and community partners to launch the 15th Annual Operation Holiday Cheer at the Rhode Island National Guard Armory in Warwick.

Operation Holiday Cheer is a seasonal initiative to ship hundreds of care packages to service men and women who are away from home during the holidays.

Due to recent deployments of Rhode Island service men and women, the Lt. Governor's Office anticipates sending over 500 care packages this holiday season, the highest number in recent years.

The event is organized by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor in partnership with the Rhode Island National Guard's Family Assistance Center, the Office of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Postal Service Providence Branch and the Rhode Island chapter of the American Red Cross.
