Rhode Island Jumps 10 Spots on National Business Rankings

PROVIDENCE, RI- Earlier today, Chief Executive released its 2018 "Best States/Worst States for Business" rankings, and Rhode Island saw the biggest gain of any state in the country, up ten spots in the past year alone (from 42 to 32).

"Rhode Island is on the move. Dozens of businesses are opening their doors, thousands of people are back to work, and cranes are in the air across our state," said Governor Gina M. Raimondo. "Making it easier to start or grow a business has been a top priority since I took office, and our strategy is seeing results. We've cut taxes and fees for businesses, put permitting online, and helped match companies with qualified Rhode Islanders ready to get to work. It's great to see publications like Chief Executive and Business Insider recognizing the strides we've made as a state, but we still have more work to do to make sure everyone feels included in our economic recovery."
