RIDOT Ferry to Stop in Bristol for July 4

This year for the first time, Fourth of July enthusiasts will be able to avoid traffic and take the Rhode Island Department of Transportation's (RIDOT) Providence to Newport ferry to Bristol for the world-famous parade. RIDOT plans to offer three round trips on July 4 to the nation's oldest Fourth of July parade.

The ferry will stop at the State Street Pier in Bristol on its route to Newport and will stop again in Bristol on return trips to Providence. The Bristol ferry stop is one block from the parade route on Hope Street. The price remains the same, $10 for adults, $5 for children (3-12 years) and seniors (65+). Tickets are available at www.RidetheBayRI.com or at www.Seastreak.com.

RIDOT also offers special late-night ferries for WaterFire events in Providence.
