This is the time of year when "Swimmer's Itch" may happen. Wading or swimming in a marshy area with high snail densities increases the likelihood of exposure. "Swimmer's Itch" is a reaction to a small organism that uses snails as a host during one phase of its life cycle. To avoid a reaction towel dry vigorously as soon as you get out and shower as soon as you can. Check with your healthcare provider if itching persists.
