Colonel Ann C. Assumpico, Superintendent, of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Department of Public Safety, states that one person died after his motor vehicle went off the road and crashed on Interstate 295 in Lincoln at approximately 8 p.m. last night.
The victim was identified as Craig R. Fregeau, age 42, of 46 Branch Ave., Cumberland.
Mr. Fregeau was travelling north on Interstate 295 near Exit 18/Route 146 when his vehicle went off the road, rolled over and struck a light pole and a tree. Mr. Fregeau was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died earlier today.
