PROVIDENCE- Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts issued the following statement today on the federal sentencing proceedings:
"Another sad account of corruption comes to a conclusion today. These criminal acts continue to undermine public trust in government. The actions of these former public officials have overshadowed the tremendous good work of those of us who fight for affordable healthcare, including the hardworking staff at Roger Williams Hospital that has continued their service to our community under a new administration. Good government, led by honorable and decent people, can do great things for Rhode Island and I am hopeful that this sentencing will allow us to concentrate fully on restoring the public's faith through our continued dedication."
