In accordance with state law, R.I.G.L. § 42-73-2.3, the Office of the Child Advocate must convene a review panel after notification by the Department of Children, Youth and Families of a child fatality or near fatality. Child Advocate Jennifer Griffith will be convening a new child fatality review panel to specifically address the death of a nine year old female. This will be in addition to the office's pending review which was initiated in May, 2018. At this time, the members of the new panel have not been finalized but will be released at a later date.
