Update on Rhode Island Treasury Operations

Rhode Island General Treasurer Seth Magaziner today announced measures he is taking to ensure that all Rhode Island Treasury departments remain open and operational, while taking commonsense precautions to contain the spread of COVID-19.

"My team and I remain focused on ensuring safe and prudent management of the State's finances, while maintaining a safe workplace for members of the public and our employees," said Treasurer Magaziner. "All Treasury departments are open and operational as we also take steps to reduce the transmission of COVID-19."

While the main Treasury office at 50 Service Avenue in Warwick remains open, members of the public are strongly encouraged to interact with Treasury departments by phone or online.

Rhode Island Treasury departments can be reached by phone Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or online anytime.

Employees' Retirement System of Rhode Island (ERSRI) has cancelled Group Retirement Counseling sessions through at least the end of March. Previously-scheduled appointments with Retirement Counselors will be held by phone.

Public outreach events for the Unclaimed Property division, Crime Victim Compensation Program, and CollegeBoundSaver are suspended until further notice. Members of the public are encouraged to reach out to those programs using the phone numbers and websites listed above.

Pursuant to Executive Order 20-05 issued by Governor Raimondo, all meetings of the Retirement Board, State Investment Commission, Public Finance Management Board, and Advisory Committee on Locally Administered Pension Plans, will be conducted remotely via telephonic or electronic communication until further notice. Members of the public will be provided with an opportunity to listen to meeting proceedings in real time, and call-in information will be posted to the Secretary of State's website at least 48 hours in advance of each meeting.

The Treasurer's office has implemented its telecommuting policy which allows eligible employees to work from home, as appropriate.
