Rose Gagnon Joins RIDOC as Physician Extender

Rhode Island Department of Corrections Medical Director Michael Poshkus, M.D., is pleased to announce the appointment of Rose Gagnon to the position of Physician Extender with the RIDOC, noting, “Ms. Gagnon has been working with the RIDOC healthcare team on a contract basis as a Registered Nurse Practitioner, and we are thrilled that she has now officially become a RIDOC employee.” He continues, “Her diverse background and previous experience with the RIDOC make her an excellent choice to fill the role of Physician Extender.”

Ms. Gagnon earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing Administration from Northeastern University as well as a Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rhode Island College and an Associate’s degree in Nursing from CCRI.

Ms. Gagnon will be working in all of the state’s prison facilities on an as-needed basis.
