At 4:07 PM, Troopers Thomas and Dietsch arrested Eugene Gomez, age 54, of 13 Woodward Street, Norton, Massachusetts, for a 4th Division Court Bench Warrant on the original charge of Driving with a Suspended/Cancelled/Revoked License out of the Narragansett Police Department. The arrest was the result of Troopers responding to a motor vehicle accident on Route 95 in the City of Providence. Mr. Gomez was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and released after arraignment by a Justice of the Peace with a 4th Division Court date.
At 10:06 PM, Trooper Richards, assisted by Troopers of the Lincoln Woods and Scituate Barracks, arrested Julio Tavares, age 46, of 20 Balcom Street, Apt 3, Providence, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor – BAC Unknown – First Offense; 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test – First Offense 3.) Obstructing officer in execution of duty and 4.) Reckless driving and other offenses against public safety. The arrest was the result Troopers responding to a Motor Vehicle accident on Calder Street in the City of Providence. Tavares was transported to the Rhode Island State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and held overnight as a bail violator pending arraignment at Sixth District Court.
At 1:46 AM, Trooper Ellis arrested Michael Jean, age 24, on a Sixth District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment on the charge of Driving with an Expired License originating out of the Rhode Island State Police – Lincoln Woods Barracks. The arrest was the result of a Motor Vehicle stop on Harford Avenue in Providence. Jean was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution.
