At 12:43 PM Troopers arrested Melanie A. Merritt, age 45, of 131 New London Avenue, Warwick, Rhode Island for 1.) Fraudulently Obtain Public Assistance > 500, 2.) Fraudulent Use of Food Stamps > 500, 3.) Obtaining Property by False Pretenses/ Personation > 10,000, and 4.) Giving False Documents to Agent, Employee, or Public Official. The arrest was the result of a barracks investigation and the subject turning herself into the Barracks. The subject was processed at the Hope Valley Barracks, arraigned by a Justice of The Peace and released with a future Third District Court date.
