At 11:00 AM, Troopers arrested Jayden Welch, age 18, of 103B Niagara Street, Middletown, Rhode Island for 1.) Active Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Violation of a No Contact Order – First Offense originating out of the Newport Police Department and 2.) Twenty-Four (24) Hour Domestic Rule – Violation of a No Contact Order originating out of the Newport Police Department. This arrest was the result of a residence check and Troopers taking Mr. Welch into custody. Mr. Welch was processed and transported to the Newport Police Department.
At 1:00 PM, Troopers arrested Welber Marzan, age 35, of 593 Prairie Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island for 1.) Simple Assault. This arrest was the result of Troopers responding to Third District Court to assist the Sheriffs with an assault that occurred. Mr. Marzan was transported to the State Police Wickford Barracks where he was processed and later turned over to Third District Court for arraignment as a violator.
At 1:23 AM, Troopers arrested Laila Rashid, age 25, of 385 Larchwood Drive, Warwick, Rhode Island Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – BAC Unknown – First Offense, 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test. The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle stop on Centerville Road in the City of Warwick. The subject was transported to the Wickford Barracks where she was processed, arraigned by a Justice of Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult with a future 3rd Division District Court Date.
