On March 24, 2026, members of the Intelligence and Auto Theft Units arrested Luis G. Velez, age 29, of 2128 Hartford Avenue, Johnston, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Possession with Intent to Deliver (Crack Cocaine); 2) Four (4) Counts of Possession of a Firearm while Delivering or Manufacturing a Controlled Substance; 3) Large-Capacity Feeding Devices; and 4) Possession of a Schedule I - V, 10 Grams or Less. Mr. Velez was transported to Third District Court, where he was arraigned.

On March 24, 2026, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Jaiden Sousa, age 18, of 174 New York Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Providence Police Department for Felony Assault with a Firearm. Mr. Sousa was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Providence Police Department.

On March 24, 2026, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Jhon Castro, age 18, of 196 California Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Providence Police Department for the following: 1) Possession of a Stolen Firearm; and 2) Two (2) Counts of Large-Capacity Feeding Devices. Mr. Castro was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Providence Police Department.

On March 24, 2026, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Matthew Guertin, age 32, of 115 Wood Avenue, Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the Providence Police Department for the following: 1) Second-Degree Sexual Assault. Mr. Guertin was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Providence Police Department.

On March 24, 2026, members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Collin Caldwell, age 23, of 22 Coveside Court, Warwick, Rhode Island, for the following: 1) Indecent Solicitation of a Child; and 2) Disseminating Indecent Materials to a Minor. Mr. Caldwell was processed at the Wickford Barracks and transported to Third District Court. Mr. Caldwell was arraigned by the Honorable Magistrate Ippolito, who issued $10,000 personal recognizance and special conditions of no unsupervised contact with minors and restricted internet access.
