At 6:51 PM, Troopers arrested Nicholas McCarthy, age 41, of 2225 Providence Pike, North Smithfield, Rhode Island for 1.) Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor – First Offense – BAC Unknown and 2.) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Breath Test – First Offense. The arrest was the result of Troopers investigating a motor vehicle accident on Route 295 in the Town of Johnston. The subject was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed and held overnight pending morning arraignment at Third District Court.
