Honorary Co-Chair Roberts Fields Team of Walkers and Leads Fundraising Effort for Healthy Babies
PROVIDENCE— Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts, Honorary Co-Chair of the March of Dimes March for Babies will field a team of walkers and lead the fundraising walkathon this SUNDAY, April 26th at Colt State Park in Bristol.
The March for Babies is a 5k walkathon to raise funds that support March of Dimes research and community programs to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Funds raised by the Rhode Island March for Babies will support a Centering Pregnancy Program at East Bay Community Action Health Center, a Smoking Cessation Program through the Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol County and Connecting for Children and Families, a preconception risk prevention program.
